Stop using the identified equipment
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's October 22 warning urges owners to stop using PowRyte pressure washers immediately. CPSC says they lack integrated immersion protection, or a GFCI, on or near the plug, creating a serious shock and electrocution hazard.
Unplug the equipment and follow the agency's destruction and disposal instructions in the linked notice. CPSC says not to sell or give away these washers.
Use the agency's photographs to identify it
Use the official notice's product photographs and description to identify the washer. Compare them with the machine and purchase information.
A warning, not an announced refund program
CPSC says Powell Works has not responded to recall requests. Warning 27-036 does not announce an agreed recall or refund program.
Make the notice part of the equipment check
WashWiki's practical suggestion is to include stored or shared equipment in the check and make the warning available to anyone who might use it. Keep the agency's directions with the equipment record.
