Plan for the water path and accessories
If freezing conditions are possible, follow the storage instructions for your exact pressure washer and its accessories. Include the pump, hose and gun in the plan.
For example, Kärcher's K 7 Smart Control instructions warn that frost can destroy equipment that has not been fully emptied. They specify preparation of both the device and accessories, followed by storage together in a frost-protected room. That room does not replace the manual's preparation steps. The concern applies wherever the equipment may encounter frost, regardless of the calendar month.
Storage products and procedures depend on the model
The SIMPSON MS60850 manual specifies a pump-protection product or equivalent and warns that unsuitable alternatives can damage the pump.
For its listed HD S Classic models, Kärcher gives a separate procedure when frost-free storage is unavailable, including fluid and handling requirements. That does not replace the K 7 procedure.
Do not combine different manuals' sequences or chemicals. Confirm the exact model and product compatibility with the manufacturer or authorized service provider.
Keep engine preparation separate
The MS60850 manual separates engine storage from pump storage and directs readers to the engine owner's manual. Preparing the fuel system does not address water remaining in the pump or accessories; pump protection does not complete engine preparation.
If a gas-engine procedure requires running the engine, its carbon-monoxide precautions still apply. SIMPSON warns against operation inside a garage or other partly enclosed area, even with doors or windows open.
Make a short storage plan
Our suggested planning note has three entries: the machine and manual identification; the intended storage place and duration; and the preparation required for each component. Include any prescribed shutdown, pressure-release and power-isolation precautions before handling connections or carrying out work.
Keep the relevant instructions with that note. If you cannot identify the machine or follow its preparation safely, obtain model-specific help before proceeding. This comparison explains what to check; the linked manuals supply the procedures for their named equipment.
